The Port of Barcelona will promote cruise deals at the fair ” Seatrade Cruise Global 2016″
The Port of Barcelona will promote their offers for cruises in the Seatrade Cruise Global 2016 fair, which this year will be in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (United States) between 14 and 17 March.
Barcelona port noted in a statement that its participation in the most important cruise worldwide meeting, aims to internationally promote the services offered to cruise traffic.
The port has also indicated that during the four days of the fair, representatives of the Port of Barcelona have scheduled several meetings with key players in the cruise industry, such as shipping companies, associations and specialized media.
The Port of Barcelona, which in 2015 received 2.5 million cruise passengers in 749 scales, confirms its leadership in the cruise sector positioned at the first port in Europe and the Mediterranean, and the fourth port base in the world.
This season, the Port of Barcelona plans to reach 2.6 million cruise passengers who visit the city on 750 scales scheduled for 2016.
Among the ships that dock in the city some are new to the market, as the world’s largest cruise ship, the Harmony of the Seas, from the shipping company Royal Caribbean.
As for facilities, the Carnival Group will start this year the construction of the terminal E, which will be located in the Townhouse dock, and cruise terminal will be the largest of Europe when it opens in 2018.
Also the Port of Barcelona Cruise company, which manages public port terminals, plans to upgrade its equipment and investments in gateways throughout.
